Apex Launcher Pro (Beta) review – leader in home replacement apps [video]

Many of you out there packing the latest and freshest version of Android, version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, are aware that there are quite a few home launchers available to replace your aging stock launcher. Everything from ported Carrier UI launchers to custom themed versions of the Nova and Apex launchers have made their way onto the home screens of eager Android enthusiasts. It is often difficult sorting through all the options. With so many different features belonging to every launcher, it can take an eternity to finally decide upon a good home replacement launcher.

So, which one is the best?

For those of you who don’t wish to dabble into the world of custom theming, but are looking to breathe new life into your home screen, I present to you Apex Launcher Pro Beta. You will need to follow the few easy steps in the embedded video to acquire an evaluation license for the Pro Beta version. Also, keep in mind, the Beta license will expire on April 24, 2012, so this is more of a short preview of what to expect out of a stable pro version. For those who wish to install the most recent stable version of Apex Launcher just follow the link in the bottom of this article.

Apex Features

Aside from previously existing features, Apex has packed their Pro version with the first dock-able widgets for Ice Cream Sandwich. With Apex’s resizable widget functionality, you can scale any widget down in order to fit it into the dock bar. The dock bar facilitates only 1×1 widgets for now, but they manage to get the point across.
Among other features included with the Pro Beta version are improved gesture support,  Phone, Gmail, and SMS, missed/unread count, and new screen transitions. These, on top of the insane amount of features already present, help to launch (no pun intended) Apex’s home replacement app to the forefront of all ICS launchers available today!
